I'm really, really new and I noticed a software program on the web to design stained glass windows.  It looked really neat and I could see how this would be a great and professional way to present window ideas to prospective purchaser.  Has anyone else used any software programs and what do you think?  I was thinking that being able to show someone what a custom window would look like in an electronic picture of their house might help someone decide to go for it.  Anyway, the software was for designing the glass pieces only.  Thanks for any help.

I use Adobe Illustrator. Fantastic program, but a bit more advance than Glass Eye and the such. Great for pattern production, proofing for clients, screen printed art, and so much more.

I started with Adobe Illustrator and liked it well enough.
BUT Glass eye was made for us!  It is soooooo much easier to understand.   IT IS AWESOME.
I've made that investment money back in saved drawing time ten fold.
Never fussing with "is that square"  "would that look better divided this way or that."
You can play with ideas and move right along quickly.
You'll be making patterns the first day.
It is/ was very worth the money if you can afford it.

Then save your image on a disk, take it to your local printer and wallah a perfectly inked pattern.
