Question: we do alot of slumping of wine bottles for cheese trays I have seen them with the label slumped into the glass does anyone know how this is done...  (Voting closed: February 28, 2007, 09:56:39 PM)

if anyone knows how to slump wine bottles with the label on or is there a product that you make the label with and then put on after slumping thanks

If the label is made from some material that will not burn up at 1300 degrees , I would guess that the labels are put on after the bottles are slumped. lables are made from paper, but there is a new batch that are painted on. These are a low fire type of enamel. I still would think they would go up in smoke.

The bottles are soaked in water to loosen the glue that holds the label on; once soaked, the label will slide right off and can be put onto wax paper and kept moist until reapplied.

With the label off, the bottle is slumped. The still-wet label is then slid back onto the bottle in (or close to) its original position.
