I have troublesome eyebrow-arch windows facing west in a hot climate. Would stained glass panels hanging in front of the window reduce heat? I don't want to replace the double-paned glass in the windows and don't want to void the window warranty so the panels need to be a few inches in from the window glass and not be tight...which would allow for heat buildup, stressing the window pane and vinyl window frame and blowing the thermal seal. Also, would the cost be much more than custom-built honeycomb shades? I have no idea what stained glass costs but assume it's a lot. I have been living with cardboard cutouts stuck up there for 3 yrs! UGLY! I don't think honeycomb shades in the arches are very attractive.

Thank you.
