Passing of Karen Hendrix

Karen's death is certainly a tragedy, but it was not a surprise. Karen was passionate about the Oklahoma City Conference and worked diligently to make sure even the smallest details were in order.

The Conference will proceed exactly as Karen planned it with one small change: the originally-planned prsentation at the Awards Banquet will be replaced with a presentation on Karen's work. Other than that change, the Conference is what Karen wanted it to be; it is important that the Conference not be allowed to become a time of mourning but rather of celebration in appriciation of all that Karen is and all that she gave the Stained Glass Association of America during her life and through her involvement in stained glass.

Since Karen did all of the work in planning this Conference, it is only fitting that she still be considered the Conference host. Though she will not be able to be there with us in body, she will certainly be with us in spirit and her work making this Conference a success will be all around us.
