" I have a person here in my state that is very popular. He only does copper foil. The last panel of his I looked at was 4ft wide and 7ft high. No reinforcment what-so-ever! Some of the pieces inside were 3ft x 1.5ft. Am I crazy? Can I go bigger in my designs without reinforcement because all my designs are triple paned?"

First, I'd question if the 4'x7' window  has no support. It may be loaded with "restrip" that is not clearly visible.
The question is really the artist vs. the fabricator. Speaking for myself, I would try to explain the possible problems of working that large with no support. Fabricators and restorers are typically in the 100 year mind set. We know that a "proper" window will last 100 years and we would like ours to last that long. Artists often live in the moment. They create as their mood dictates  with little regard for the future. This can be seen in ALL art mediums. Of course without pushing the envelope art does not advance.
So the answer is, are you feeling lucky?HuhHuhHuhHuh?
