I want to buy a compressor and gun for sandblasting and have noticed a vast difference in the price of equipment used in garages for cleaning metals etc and equipment sold for glass use, the equipment for glass being more expensive. I wonder what, if any, difference there is and if anyone can advise me. Thank you.

If I may offer some insight.
Regardless of the use, the equipment all does the same thing, it forces and abrasive granular product thru a hose and out thru a tip under pressure.  How it is done is what determines the cost.  the more expensive version would be a pressure pot, which does not usually require as high end compressor, the siphon type pot draws the abrasive into the hose by reason of the compressed air passing by a hole in a hose to brign the material up and then pushed out.

Best to research the differences, and the vendor from whom you will purcahasing, there does seem to be a large difference in vendors, by from a position of knowledge, it is a high end purcahse.
