No names were to be viewed by voters; albeit, winning panel was signed: Panels should be 24" by 24":  Maybe the stained glass quarterly's photographer didn't photograph these panels in perspective? I was not an entry due to my great deal of experience, but I have to wonder what others thought.

If you will review the rules (http://stainedglass.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/094-Exhibition.pdf), you'll see that under Size Limitations, it states that "Maximum size for any panel is 4 square feet ,with 24" as a maximum for any one side. 3D designs will be allowed, but the parameters must still be within the 2' x 2' x 2' limits. Weight limit of 30 (thirty) lbs. Larger pieces will not be accepted."

The rule was never that the panels had to be 24", but rather that they could not exceed 24". Panels larger than 24" will not fit in the framing system used to display the work at Conferences.

The first, second, and third place panels are all signed. Prior to voting, those signatures were covered with tape. After voting was complete, the tape was removed. First and second place were photographed in my studio after the Conference had ended. Photos of the third place piece were provided by the artist.

The 2008 contest didn't appear to have any signatures; and all appeared to be of the same size; so why wouldn't everyone believe it to be the same for the 2009 contest. None of the panels were named or iformation about their inspiration, or of materials used, also of the backgrounds of the highly talented artists.  Let alone a view of some of  "the runner ups".  I guess I'd like to see more information about more of the contest than a single page. I'am sure a lot of people but a great deal of effort into their paintings.
