First of all the glass you may be trying to replace may not be made anymore if it is old. A better way to hide the crack to put put a small strip of foil or lead cut from the heart out and cover it. A small amount of adhesive along the crack will help hold the lead in place, foil has it's own adhesive. Then solder it and it will last a long time. If this changes the appearance too much, replace the piece.
